The breakfast area is modest. The breakfast buffet offers everything usual and is kept within reasonable limits.

entrance area (street door and staircase) is, because partly construction site, initially frightening. after entering the reception area, totally different modern renovated new world opens up.

Location in itself quiet, but hotel itself loud > you can hear every door. Sound insulation not available. . Toilet paper must not be in the toilet, must be in the trash can, is not so pleasant.

The location of the hotel is excellent. . . The staff is friendly.

In our opinion, our room (Superior-Deluxe) did not correspond to the category booked. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio was not right. A price of 60.00-80.00 would have been appropriate. The photos of the rooms were very euphemistic.

Northern Lights was well located and our room was spacious, light, quiet and clean. The staff were delightful and did their best to repond to our requests and answer our questions. We would recommend Northern Lights to friends. You must be able to carry your own bags up three flights of stairs so you have to have a reasonable level of fitness.

The room is fantastic, very new, clean, with a very elegant decoration. Beds are confortable, tv in the room. Large windos and a very good place to stay. We were using a shared bathroom, that was clean and confortable too.

The only - and i really mean only, as you completely forget it after you are insede the hotel, and even more, after you discover that the hotel is absolutely close to everithing you need, is the stair case that leads to the hotel. The hotel is on the third floor of a building and the staircases are dark and old. But once you open the hotel door, everything changes.

It's all been said: Basic, clean, and close to all the main sights. If youre just looking for a place to to lay your head cheaply while you explore St. Petersburg all day, this is it.

Bit hard lugging the bags up a dark staircase on arrival, but you only do it on arrival and check out.

The location is excellent - only a short stroll from the Winter Palace and from Mariinsky Theater. The room was spacious enough.

Less than scarce breakfast served in the room. A staircase may be a disaster for travellers with heavy luggage.

Excellent staff,very helpful, friendly and welcoming. They even made calls for us concerning the ferry and organised everything very well. Breakfast is served in the room.

Had a very comfortable stay at Northern Lights. Great location to all sights was the best part. Breakfast bought to your room good. Staff very helpful and all speak english and can advise about tours etc. Would recommend for a city break.
